My best picks of movies featured in the Oscars Ceremony is first and foremost, Brokeback Mountain, a beautiful love story with a distinct feel of America and wonderful acting; Memoirs of a Geisha, an even more beautiful movie with a stunning head actress, however a bit too Holloywoodified; War of the Worlds, an orgasm in sound and vision (watch it in a good home-theatre system) albeit not in originality and finally Syriana, a top-class political thriller with my favorite Clooney and a superb script.
